U.S. House (D-WI 2) — Ridglan's own congressman
April 2026
The endorsement
Rep. Mark Pocan represents Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District — where Ridglan operates. He took the case to the floor of the U.S. House and put the documented violations into the Congressional Record.
On April 29, 2026, Pocan secured language in a House manager's amendment directing the USDA to review the federal licenses of breeders who lose their state license. The amendment was approved by the full Appropriations Committee and will appear in the FY27 Agriculture funding bill that goes to the House floor.
He has called publicly for the immediate release of the Ridglan dogs and the closure of the facility, and has urged Wisconsin's DATCP to begin rehousing efforts immediately.
